Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev arrived in Ufa

UFA, 22 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev arrived in Bashkortostan with an official visit. The Head of the State is accompanied by his wife Raisa Atambayeva. At the airport in Ufa they were met by the Head of the Region Rustem Khamitov together with his wife Gulshat Khamitova and the Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB Konstantin Tolkachov.

During the visit, a meeting of Rustem Khamitov and Almazbek Atambayev will be held. Also a concert of artists of the Kyrgyz Republic will take place in Ufa within the Kyrgyzstani Days of Culture in Russia.

The Kyrgyz Republic ranks fifth in the total volume of the republican trade with the CIS countries with a share of 3.1 percent. The volume of foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan with Kyrgyzstan amounted to 30.7 million dollars in 2016 and mainly consisted of exports.

Among the products exported from Bashkortostan there are oil products, as well as steel wire, caustic and calcined soda, herbicides, fertilizers, plastic products, glued plywood, fiberboard and chipboard. The main import items are electric lamps, aluminum and copper products.

There are five enterprises with the participation of Kyrgyz capital in the territory of our republic engaged in trade and legal activities.

In 2015, the Days of Culture and Science of Bashkortostan in the Kyrgyz Republic were held. Since 2006, the Kyrgyz national centre Ala-Too has been functioning in the republic. Creative collectives and performers from Kyrgyzstan take an active part in competitions and festivals held in Bashkortostan.

Between the leading universities of Bashkortostan and Kyrgyzstan there are over 30 agreements on cooperation. In 2016/2017 academic year, 60 Kyrgyz students studied at the universities of the republic.
