Rustem Khamitov formed new composition of Bashkortostan Central Election Commission

UFA, 14 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Head of Bashkortostan, by his decree, appointed six members of the Central Election Commission. Thus, Rustem Khamitov completed formation of the CEC of Bashkortostan. The Head of the Region appointed: the acting chairman of the CEC RB, Khaidar Valeev (proposed by the CEC of Russia), Marat Gadilov (proposed by the district council of the Kushnarenkovo district), Lyaysan Garipova (proposed by the LDPR party), Ildar Karimov (proposed by the district council of the Blagoveschensk district), Gennady Shabaev (proposed by the "Patriots of Russia" party), Ruslan Yamaletdinov (proposed by the "United Russia" party).

Today, the deputies of the State Assembly of Bashkiria have appointed six members of the Central Election Commission of Bashkortostan with the decisive vote right.

The new composition is elected in connection with expiry of the term of office of the Central Election Commission on June 26, 2017. In accordance with federal and regional election legislation, the new electoral commission will have 12 members with a casting vote.

Half of the members of the republican election commission are appointed by the State Assembly, the other half by the Head of Bashkortostan. At the same time, both the State Assembly and the Head of the Republic must appoint at least one member of the election commission on the basis of the proposals received from the CEC of Russia.

Candidates were elected on the basis of proposals received from political parties that nominated lists of candidates and admitted to the distribution of deputy seats in the State Duma, the State Assembly of Bashkortostan, as well as proposals of representative bodies of municipalities, the previous Central Election Commission RB, the CEC of the Russian Federation.
