State Duma deputies held meeting with Supreme Mufti of Russia in Ufa

UFA, 29 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Deputies of the State Duma committee for Civil Society Development, Issues of Public and Religious Associations met with the chairman of the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia Talgat Tajuddin in Ufa. The meeting took place in the Ufa Cathedral Mosque.

In a conversation with the Supreme Mufti, the topics of religious education and enlightenment, the protection of believers feelings, state-confessional relations were touched upon. The spiritual leader noted that Bashkortostan was a stable region with practically no interfaith problems, and equitable dialogue relations with the authorities.

The deputies thanked Talgat Tajuddin for a warm welcome and a detailed report of the religious situation in the region. The parliamentarians shared their impressions of visiting the Ufa Cathedral Mosque "Lyalya-Tulpan" and the Jewish National Cultural Centre.

Today, parliamentarians will meet with Nikon Metropolitan of Ufa and Sterlitamak.

Deputies of the State Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society arrived in the capital of the republic on Sunday, May 28. The initiator of the exit meeting of the committee in Ufa was the deputy of the "United Russia" faction Ramzil Ishsarin.
