UFA, 19 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On May 19, a meeting of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov took place at the Ufa Congress Hall. Issues of strengthening business, trade, economic and cultural cooperation between the regions were discussed.
"The relations between our republics are very close. Starting from 2014, we are in good contact: working together, moving forward together," said Rustem Khamitov. "Everything related to support of Crimea, to our assistance, will be continued. We will work in this direction. We will multiply our fraternal, friendly relations. "
"You were beside us in the most difficult moments. This just shows the attitude of the Republic of Bashkortostan to all processes that have already occurred in the Russian Crimea. I am confident that due to our close cooperation we will be able to develop further our relations," said Sergey Aksenov. "We will offer you such interaction ways that will benefit both Bashkortostan and Crimea. I have no doubt that we will find growth points within our economic projects. "
Sergey Aksenov said that he had family relationship with Ufa also. His mother's parents met here in a military hospital. She herself was born in Ufa and later graduated with honours from Ufa Aviation Institute.
