Bashkir Parliament Speaker supported Valentina Matvienko and Vyacheslav Volodin’s initiative on raising deputy status

UFA, 4 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Darya Petrova/. The Chairman of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev considers timely a proposal to increase the status of deputies. Yesterday the initiative was introduced to the lower house of the parliament by the Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and the Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matviyenko. The bill raises the status of deputies and senators in cooperation with federal, regional and municipal officials.
In particular, deputies and senators will have the right to receive first-time reception by state authorities and "persons of the commanding staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops and military formations".
In addition, it is proposed that the parliaments of the regions of Russia be given the authority "to hear at their meetings the information provided by the heads of the territorial bodies of the federal executive bodies in the entity on the results of their activities".
"The initiative will contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between deputies and executive bodies. Such a closer interaction is important, because all state bodies fulfill one task - improving the quality of people's lives. I fully support this decision, which will increase the authority of the deputy corps", said Konstantin Tolkachev.
