Anti-corruption legislation is effective regardless of status of persons violated law - Konstantin Tolkachev

In recent years, a unique legislative base to counter corruption, which has no counterparts in the world, has been created in the country. This led to drastic changes in the attitude of the population towards the fight against corruption, although not so long ago this problem was far aside the interests of the Russian citizens. This was stated by the Speaker of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev at a session of the anti-corruption commission of the Council of Legislators of Russia. Konstantin Tolkachev heads this commission. The session was held today in the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg.

Konstantin Tolkachev announced a number of proposals to improve quality of the anti-corruption federal legislation. They are based on the generalized experience of regions in this area.

During the meeting of the Commission, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Security and Counteracting Corruption Vasily Piskarev and the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Defense and Security Viktor Ozerov delivered reports. They talked about organizational and legal problems that arise while implementation of anti-corruption policies in the regions.

The parliamentarians recommended to the Council of Legislators of Russia to submit to the State Duma the proposals received from the legislative authorities to improve the anti-corruption legislation.
