UFA, 22 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On April 21, in Ufa, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov delivered a speech at a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Local Self-Government. The Head of the Republic congratulated the municipal employees and deputies on the holiday and awarded the laureates of the "The best municipal formation of the Republic of Bashkortostan" contest.
"It is the bodies of local self-government that solve most of the topical and sensitive issues concerning employment, support for entrepreneurship, public utilities, road repairs and many more," Rustem Khamitov said.
The Head of the Region noted that the republic invested significant resources in development of all territories. Complex programs for the Trans-Urals and the northeast are being implemented. 1.7 billion rubles were spent under the rural development program. New first aid/obstetric stations, sports grounds appeared. Dozens of villages were connected to gas, water mains. New roads and entrances to the villages were laid. More than 430 families, mostly young, received housing certificates.
“The republic will continue to provide financial assistance to rural settlements. Annually, more than 400 million rubles will be allocated for these purposes," Rustem Khamitov said. “Now these funds can be directed not only to the improvement of settlements, road repairs, but also to the utilities facilities, to increase fire safety.”
According to the Head of the Republic, Bashkortostan has become one of the best regions in the country on developing the initiative budgeting practice. Last year, nearly 500 projects were implemented for almost 500 million rubles.
Rustem Khamitov marked the municipalities, which had made the most significant contribution to the social and economic development of the republic last year. Thus, Chekmagush, Alsheevo, Salavat and Bakaly districts became leaders in terms of growth rates in industrial production. Among the best farmers were residents of Chekmagush, Sterlitamak, Meleuz, Ilishevo, Dyurtyuli, Tuimazy and a number of other areas. High results in housing construction were shown in Ufa and Ufa district, Neftekamsk and Sterlitamak, Iglino, Tuimazy, Sterlitamak and Khaibullino districts. The top ten leaders in investment activity were the city of Salavat, Buzdyak, Khaibullino, Blagoveschensk and Sterlitamak districts.
“I am sure that you, the heads of municipalities, municipal employees, deputies of local councils, understand all the responsibility that lies with us. We are responsible for the republic together with our citizens. And our common task is to change people's lives for the better”.
