Rustem Khamitov: "Priority development areas are good growth accelerators"

UFA, 15 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/. Priority development areas are good growth accelerators with reasonable use of advantages of such territories, the Head of Bashkortostan, Rustem Khamitov believes. He told about it in his interview to the "Expert-Ural" magazine commenting on the fact that the mono-cities Belebey and Kumertau received a status of priority development areas (PDAs).
"A large company has been established in Kumertau that processes sunflower. Investments from six to seven billion rubles are planned. Belebey also has good prospects: I hope a cheese-making industry and engineering will develop there", the Head of the Region said. "Helicopters of Russia" are considering a possibility of producing additional products as part of the PDA in Kumertau to take advantage of local benefits. This is a large corporation; it can not only transfer production facilities, but also build something new. Belebey "Avtonormal" specializes in production of fasteners for automotive industry. It is logical that some residents of the PDA in Belebey will also be engaged in automobile industry".
According to Rustem Khamitov, PDA is a new experience for Bashkortostan, as for the country as a whole, although several Russian regions have already experienced free economic zones practices.
