Rustem Khamitov: "Currently it is impossible to build environmentally harmful enterprise"

UFA, 16 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. The final board of the Ministry of Ecology of Bashkortostan took place in Ufa, which was attended by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov. He marked several global trends, which corresponded to the situation in the republic.
The Head of the Republic gave examples of how modern technology reduced the risk of environmental contamination: "The number of vehicles has increased many times. Just yesterday, the day before yesterday, we remembered with the mayor of Ufa that there were 60 thousand cars in the city 15-20 years ago, and today there are 475 thousand of them, by eight times more. But the air pollution has not increased eightfold. The modern automobile industry assumes quality work of engines, high-quality fuel burning. The quality of the fuel itself is also growing – due to the transition to Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards", Rustem Khamitov said. “New enterprises are built strictly in accordance with environmental requirements. Numerous expertise, more thorough study of all environmental issues, evaluation of public opinion, etc. - all this contributes to the fact that we can say "dirty" productions are no longer constructed. Professionals understand that today it is impossible to build an environmentally harmful enterprise".
In the near future it is not expected massive increase in production, which may create problems for the conservation of nature. Industry grows by a few percent per year. "Last year we finished with the index of industrial production of 102.6 percent. This year we started well. January results 2017 amounted to 107.9 percent compared to January 2016. These are amazing figures even for us! While we do our best to ensure that the industrial production index grew, but we did not expect such results. Oil industry, chemicals, forest products, light industry, food industry - all showed good progress", gave an assessment the Head of the Region. "Nevertheless, we do not see in any of these positions that the economy will begin to grow multiply, exponentially, for the next 10-20 years, and thus will entail environmental problems".
