It is necessary to create hospices in Bashkiria - Commissioner for Human Rights
UFA, 15 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. There are still no hospices in Bashkortostan. This problem was outlined at a meeting with journalists at the "Interfax-Volga" agency by the Commissioner for Human Rights in RB Rim Kayumov. The Commissioner for Human Rights considers that the medical institutions for the incurable (cancer) patients are necessary, where not only the conditions that facilitate suffering are created, but also moral support is rendered.
"I have already spoken and will continue to speak about the need to establish hospices for patients in the last stages of terminal cancer in our republic. If palliative care is actively developing, the solution of this issue leaves much to be desired ", said the Commissioner for Human Rights RB.
Rim Kayumov told about the experience of hospices in other regions, where they work in the framework of public-private partnership under the auspices of charitable funds. In Russia, their number is close to one hundred, although the need for them is much higher, the Commissioner believes.
