Only 160 of 400 religious organizations are registered in Bashkortostan

UFA, 23 November 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. In Bashkortostan, of more than 400 religious organizations only 160 are registered. This was told to journalists the Speaker of the regional parliament Konstantin Tolkachev. Members of the republican parliament have proposed to enforce a compulsory registration of such organizations.

"We submit a bill to the State Duma that requires all religious institutions to be registered," said Konstantin Tolkachev. “It should not be at the mercy of the elements. Everything should be controlled by law in the legal field".

It is supposed to establish administrative responsibility for those who would violate this requirement.

The project amends articles 7 and 11 of the Federal Law "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations" and article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offences.
