Electronic cigarettes use will be regulated in Bashkiria

The Chairman of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev considers it necessary to legally regulate the use of electronic cigarettes. According to the Republican Speaker of the Parliament, it should be done in order to preserve the health of our citizens, especially young people, the press service of the State Assembly RB reports.

As the Chairman of the State Assembly marks, at first glance, the simplest and most effective is to equate the new smoking types to the traditional smoking and to extend to them all the constraints that have proven their effectiveness. The data presented by scientists and sociologists testify to this fact, according to which during the effective period of "anti-smoking" law, the number of constantly smoking people decreased by 25 percent over two years.

"The statistics relating to children is particular pleasing: the number of permanent smoking teenagers 13-15 years old decreased by 2.5 times. Prior to the introduction of the law 27 percent of teenagers smoked, now - only nine percent. These figures correspond to the level of the developed countries. The introduction of rules for the use of electronic cigarettes is within the competence of the federal authorities. In this regard, the State Assembly in the near future will carry out work on the corresponding legislative initiative", said Konstantin Tolkachev.
