Liliya Gumerova presented Bashkortostan experience in refugee reception at International Forum in Baku

UFA, 4 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The senator from Bashkortostan Liliya Gumerova presented the republican experience in refugee reception at a "round table" in the framework of the Fifth International Humanitarian Forum held in Baku. The experts discussed the importance of preserving human capital in the conditions of the mass movement of people as a basis for sustainable development.
The MP said that currently the issue of the migration management mechanisms development and increased international cooperation in the sphere of migration legislation became relevant due to scales of migration.
The legislator said that in Russia there were more than one million inhabitants from the south-east of Ukraine. Issues of welfare provision and employment of refugees were addressed at all levels.
According to the parliamentarian, much has been done for the improvement of legislation, including in the field of customs. Liliya Gumerova recalled that the President of Russia on May 1 this year signed the law amending the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation". Now a residence permit can be obtained without issuing a temporary residence permit and compliance with the terms of the stay duration in Russia.
At the same time, in view of the legislator, in addition to the adoption of necessary laws and allocation of funds for refugees’ reception, it is necessary to work actively with people.
As an example, Liliya Gumerova shared Bashkortostan experience in reception of Ukrainian refugees. The region conducted a systematic work, during which in prompt cooperation of municipalities with public authorities operational headquarters were created for the reception and placement of arriving citizens. All employment centres were engaged in this activity and efforts were coordinated for employment and social integration of citizens in the shortest possible time.
The senator stressed that the most important thing in dealing with the problems of refugees was to stop the ongoing military conflicts. "Migration should be job-seeking, for peaceful purposes, but it does not have to be the vast flows of refugees suffering from wars".
