Russian CEC announced moratorium on observers removing- Ella Pamfilova

UFA, 8 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The CEC of Russia announced a moratorium on observers removing. "In fact, we have declared a moratorium on the removal of observers. We must learn to work with them ", said the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova at the commission meeting via videoconferencing. The meeting was attended by members of the CEC and the regional representatives of political parties registered in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Ella Pamfilova stressed that to increase the efficiency of the observers the law for the first time secured their right to make photo and video recording in the voting rooms. In addition, the Russian Central Election Commission in its explanations allowed reassigning other observers instead of the withdrawn ones for a valid reason up to the day of voting.
According to the Russian Central Election Commission, up to 4.5 million people may be included in the number of observers at all 95 thousand polling stations.
In Bashkortostan, the international observation over preparation and conduction of elections of deputies to the State Duma of the seventh convocation will be implemented by the OSCE representatives. The long-term observer mission includes Marsha Weinerman from the USA and a delegate from Armenia Oganez Kazaryan. On the election day they will be joined by up to 10 groups of short-term observers. Total, according to Oganez Kazaryan, about 18 international observers will operate in our republic.
