11 parties representatives take part in election campaign to Ufa City Council

UFA, 30 August 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. Representatives of 11 political parties take part in the election campaign to the Ufa City Council. This is reported at a press conference in the city administration by the Chairman of the Election Commission Ufa Gennady Mayorov. Elections to the City Council will be held on 18 single-mandate constituencies and a single urban district.

The Chairman of the Election Commission marked that the number of parties and public organizations involved in the elections was constantly increasing. In connection with the increased competition the current campaign differs with raised activity of voters.

"If in 2012 only four parties nominated their representatives, this time - already 11. About two years ago political organizations began to intensify their activity. Many parties have stepped up their work trying to attract more voters", said Gennady Mayorov.

This phenomenon, according to the Chairman of the Election Commission, happened due to changes in legislation that simplified the registration procedure. Previously, only four parliamentary parties were released from collection of signatures, but now 14 parties have the same privileges at the Duma elections, and five parties at the City Council elections.
