Liliya Gumerova: "Regions of Russia and Indonesia have great prospects of cooperation development"

The First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Science, Education and Culture, the senator from Bashkortostan Liliya Gumerova visited Indonesia Festival in Moscow's Hermitage Garden. The senator was invited by the Embassy of Indonesia in Moscow as the head of the Group of friendship of our parliaments.
During the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia in Russia Wahid Supriyadi Liliya Gumerova named a strategic task of cooperation - to increase the volume of bilateral turnover up to five billion dollars a year.
Liliya Gumerova marked that in addition to increasing economic ties today cooperation in the field of culture and prevention of terrorism and extremism was of great interest.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Wahid Supriyadi stressed that Russia and Indonesia were strategic partners, and thanked for their participation in the Festival of Indonesia. "I look forward to increasingly growing and developing cooperation between our countries", he said.
The sides noted importance of working groups on cooperation between the parliaments of Russia and Indonesia, which had been created on the initiative of the Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matviyenko. From the Russian side the group is headed by the Senator Liliya Gumerova and from the Indonesian side by the Deputy Chairman of the Upper Chamber of the Indonesia Parliament Muhammad Farooq. "It is now about 30 subjects of the Russian Federation which have good connections with different provinces of this country. We need to continue cooperation in this direction".
As an example, Liliya Gumerova named Bashkortostan, which currently was interested in cooperation in different areas of the economy (oil refining, agriculture, aviation industry). The Ambassador of Indonesia Wahid Supriyadi expressed his interest to visit the Republic of Bashkortostan in the near future.
