Russian mobile communications can rise in price by 300 percent - media

Operators costs in case of entry into force of the so-called "Yarovaya anti-terrorism package" will make hundreds of billions of rubles, the communications may rise in price by 300 percent, the head of the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov said.

According to RIA Novosti, the State Duma passed a resonance package of anti-terrorist laws, which obliges telecommunications operators and Internet companies to store information about the conversations and their content and correspondence of users and to provide them to intelligence agencies on request. Yesterday the package was adopted by the Federation Council, despite the request by the Human Rights Council, the business ombudsman, mobile operators and Internet companies to decline it.

Operators said that because of the "Yarovaya Law" rates for mobile services may grow two to three times. They are ready to submit to the Federation Council calculations of prices growth.
