"iVolga-2016" participants launched into the sky about one thousand white balloons on Remembrance and Sorrow Day

UFA, 22 June 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. On Remembrance and Sorrow Day participants of "iVolga-2016" launched into the sky about one thousand white balloons. In the Samara Region the Youth Forum participants honoured the memory of the dead soldiers-liberators, organizers said.

At 3.15 Moscow time, in support of the "Immortal Regiment" All-Russian campaign over two thousand forum participants, including delegates from Bashkortostan, marched a solemn procession carrying pictures of their relatives who participated in the World War II.

By tradition, the column came to the Volga River, in order to lay commemorative wreaths of flowers onto the water. After that, the young people launched into the sky about one thousand white balloons with paper cranes.

On June 22 the Russian President's Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich took part in a memorial service at the "Eternal Flame" memorial complex in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of Russia laid a memory wreath to the Eternal Flame, a minute of silence was declared.

As previously reported, about one hundred representatives from Bashkortostan participate in the largest youth forum "iVolga-2016". Total, the event was attended by over two thousand young people from all regions of the Volga Federal District, as well as the People's Republic of China and France.
