Konstantin Tolkachev: "Finns still express friendly attitude towards us"

The Chairman of the State Assembly RB Konstantin Tolkachev after a working visit to Finland is sure that the country is favourably disposed towards us. The purpose of the trip was the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Finland and Bashkortostan.

"In many areas the contacts have been frozen for the past two years with no impulses to activate them,” said Konstantin Tolkachev. “As part of our visit, a large number of meetings were held following which we became convinced that the Finns still maintained friendly attitude towards us, but due to their disciplined approach could not go beyond the limits defined by the sanctions. Subjectively, the business community of Finland is ready to continue cooperation with us in a variety of formats. It is obvious that the sanctions brought them much more minuses than pluses, which are not seen at all. During the meetings, an agreement in principle was reached on the visit of a joint delegation of parliament members and the Finnish business community to our republic in 2017".

Recall, after the visit of Bashkortostan delegation forestry and wood processing, wooden construction, petrochemistry, agriculture, agricultural technology and food production, pharmaceuticals, machinery and instrument were identified as the main areas of cooperation, the press service of the republican parliament informs.
