Rustem Khamitov: "Nobody is going to transfer sanatoriums into private hands"

UFA, 4 May 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov said that the large-scale privatization of health resorts owned by the republic was not assumed. It is referred to changing the form of management in order to improve the efficiency of health institutions.
The Head of the Republic gave an example that in the "Yangan Tau" sanatorium the number of inhabitants of Bashkortostan constituted only 15-20 percent of the total number of tourists. The others were residents of Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, Tatarstan and other subjects.
“Nobody is going to transfer sanatoriums into private hands. We are only talking about changing the form of management to make everything open and transparent, to have boards of directors, to take decisions collectively”, said Rustem Khamitov. “We see a huge inefficient spending on construction of different kinds of support institutions, museum complexes, incomprehensible production sites. The form of state unitary enterprise does not suppose collective discussion of decisions taken by the director. Everything will be different in the form of a joint-stock company. And these companies will remain republican; they will be in the ownership of the republic. This is a fundamental point.”
Recall that the Government of Bashkortostan made amendments in the forecast plan of state property privatization for 2016-2017. According to the document, the list of state unitary enterprises of the republic, which is planned to be privatized in this period, includes nine sanatoriums and a summer camp.
