Mikhail Babich and Rustem Khamitov visited the city of Oktyabrsky

On April 28, the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation to the Volga Federal District (VFD) Mikhail Babich and the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov visited the city of Oktyabrsky. There was held a meeting on socio-economic development of the regional municipalities, which was attended by their heads.

The meeting discussed a wide range of issues. In particular, it was talked about the development of housing and communal services, land and property relations, construction of roads, housing and social infrastructure, development of agro-industrial complex, execution of "May" decrees of the President RF. Most of the discussion was devoted to health care issues. As the Envoy of the Russian President said, the topic was one of the most pressing and caused a large number of complaints from the public.

Before the meeting Mikhail Babich and Rustem Khamitov visited the Oktyabrsky City Hospital No. 1, which provides medical care to the residents of the city and five surrounding districts. In 2015 a modern interdistrict perinatal centre for 80 beds was opened there.

The Envoy of the President of Russia and the Head of the Region also familiarized themselves with work of ambulance crews.

The same day Mikhail Babich and Rustem Khamitov visited one of the city's largest companies - "Alternativa" plastic products plant, which is the largest enterprise in Russia for production of consumer goods from plastics. They got acquainted with the production process and discussed topical issues of import substitution and export of finished products with the heads of the enterprise.

Currently, more than 2 200 people work at the plant. Every day it is processed from 60 to 65 tons of polymers. According to the General Director Rail Fakhretdinov, the company is actively engaged in import substitution activities. Currently, about 80 percent of goods from plastics of domestic production are available in the Russian market. The range of manufactured goods has more than 3 500 products and they are delivered to the regions of Russia, CIS countries and the European Union.

At year-end 2015 the company shipped goods of own production, executed works and services in the amount of 3.1 billion rubles. It invested about 700 million rubles. About 400 million rubles of taxes were paid to the budget.

The Head of the Republic said that issues of import substitution were being worked out extensively in Bashkortostan.

“Big oil companies began to buy equipment at our companies. And this growth is very large. "Sibur", "Rosneft" and several other companies have increased the purchase of products manufactured by our enterprises by 40-50 percent. We have observed it for six months”, said Rustem Khamitov. “The work has just begun. There are enormous reserves, tremendous opportunities there. It is a definite plus for our country.”

Following the events taken place in the city of Oktyabrsky current problematic issues of socio-economic development of territories have been identified, which will soon be considered by the Executive Office of the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President to the Volga Federal District in cooperation with federal and regional authorities.
