"Golden Threads of the Silk Road" International Forum will be held in Ufa during Nowruz celebration

UFA, 25 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Russian-Iranian Forum "Golden Threads of the Silk Road" will be held in Ufa in April 2017, during the celebration of Nowruz, the Government of Bashkortostan reports.

"The Ufa forum will contribute to the rapprochement of Russia and Iran in the awareness of citizens of the two countries about the culture and traditions of our peoples, and to the trade and economic cooperation promotion", said the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov.

The Federal Agency for Nationalities (FADH) came forward with the initiative to carry out the Russia's socio-economic forum of regional cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian constituent entities of the Urals and the Volga region. The initiative was announced during the visit of Russian delegation to Iran led by the head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities Igor Barinov. The Prime Minister of the Bashkortostan Government Rustem Mardanov was also a member of the delegation.

According to FADH head Igor Barinov, Bashkortostan is considered as the venue of the forum. It is expected that among the issues to be discussed will be inter-university cooperation, Islamic education and countering extremism.
