Four cities-leaders in alcohol illegal trafficking were announced in Bashkortostan

UFA, 25 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Bashkortostan four cities-leaders in the illegal trafficking of alcohol were named. Yesterday, the deputy chairman of the State Committee of the region on Trade and Consumer Protection Kamil Galiev delivered a report at a round table on the situation in the alcohol market of the republic held in the House of the State Assembly RB.

"Last year, more than 200 raids in 35 municipal districts of the republic were conducted, and in each, without exception, violations of law were revealed. The cities of Ufa, Yanaul, Oktyabrsky and Neftekamsk became leaders in illegal trafficking of alcohol", said the deputy chairman of the State Committee.

Among the common violations there was selling alcohol without a license (75 cases), with forged excise labels (50 cases). The amount of fines imposed for identified violations amounted to more than 7 million rubles in 2015.

According to the police, for 2015 more than 94 million litres of alcohol and alcohol-containing products (by 15 million litres more than in 2014) were seized from illegal turnover. Seven clandestine shops in Birsk, Belebey, Ishimbai, Kumertau, Sterlitamak, Sibai and Meleuzovsky region were liquidated. It was revealed 40 crimes related to production, purchase, storage, transportation and sale of products without markings and not meeting safety requirements, as well as bribery, embezzlement, illegal business, fraud, forgery of excise duty stamps.

With regard to the legal alcohol, then in 2015 in Bashkortostan the market of this product developed within the framework of the all-Russian trends.

"Compared to the year 2014 it was marked slowdown in sale of legal alcohol, imports decrease and increasing demand for domestic goods. Last year, the production of alcoholic beverages fell by two percent in the republic and was about three million decalitres. On average, it was sold 9.1 litres of alcohol per person", marked Kamil Galiev.
