Retail sales decreased by 12 percent in Bashkortostan
UFA, 18 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Bashkortostan retail sales decreased by 12 percent. On March 17, this was reported by the chairman of the State Committee RB for Trade and Consumer Protection Rustam Kamaletdinov at the round table conference devoted to the implementation of legislation on trade in the rural areas of the region.
"The retail trade turnover in 2015 amounted to 784 billion rubles in the republic, of which one fifth is accounted for the rural areas of the region. At current prices it grew by 3.4 billion rubles, which in comparable estimation was by 12 percent less than in 2014", said the head of the department.
"However, in absolute terms of turnover, Bashkortostan is still among the top ten regions of Russia and ranks the first among the regions of the Volga Federal District", stated Rustam Kamaletdinov.
As Bashinform News Agency reported, the consumers' chain of stores decreased markedly in rural areas over the past 10-15 years. Small remote settlements are left without trade services, mobile commerce is poorly developed, and wholesale trade enterprises are almost absent in rural areas.
According to the participants of the round table, property and non-property benefits to individual entrepreneurs working in rural areas should be granted, as well as the regulations on opening shops in villages should be reviewed.
