Rustem Khamitov has held a meeting of the Government of Bashkortostan

UFA, 16 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. On March 16, in Ufa the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a meeting of the Government, devoted to results of socio-economic development of the region in 2015.

The Head of the Republic noted that in 2015 the volume of industrial production rose by one percent, agriculture - by 3.2 percent. Housing construction increased by 1.5 percent. Investments in fixed assets remained at the level of 2014. At the same time the consolidated budget expenditures increased by 8.2 percent.

“The economic slowdown affected the situation in the social sphere. Last year, the overall unemployment rate rose from 5.3 percent to 6.1 percent. Real wages in the last year was 90.4 percent, down almost 10 percent compared to 2014”, said Rustem Khamitov. “Demographic indicators are not encouraging us. Fertility decreased by two percent. It decreases and this year. The mortality rate increased by 1.5 percent.

Speaking about the economic situation in 2016, the Head of Bashkortostan marked reduction in major indices. Thus, for the first two months of the year the index of industrial production decreased by 1.9 percent, housing construction – by more than 10 percent. Real wages in relation to February of the last year fell by 4 percent. Inflation rose by nearly 1.5 percent.

“We're obliged to maintain a steady-going political situation. We need to provide people with a prospect. We should not deprive the people from their future. The inhabitants of Bashkortostan should be confident that the Government of the Republic is doing everything to the development of society continued, and that the authorities will provide social security and social stability in all circumstances.”
