Rustem Khamitov attended a meeting on situation in labour market and measures to support employment

UFA, 2 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held in Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic) a meeting on the situation in the labour market and measures to support employment. It was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Olga Golodets, Education and Science Minister Dmitry Livanov, Minister of Labour and Social Protection Maxim Topilin, heads of regions, representatives of business and labour organizations. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov made a report on the situation in the labour market of our republic.

Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister said he had signed an action plan aimed at ensuring sustainable socio-economic development in 2016.

According to the action plan approved by the Government for this year additional measures to support employment are provided. 3 billion rubles of subsidies from the federal budget to the regions will be allocated, while another 7 billion will remain in reserve. The measures to stimulate employers to hire people who are dismissed from other companies are also planned. In addition, more than 7 billion rubles for the development of single-industry towns are budgeted, which will be used to co-finance infrastructure necessary for the implementation of new investment projects.

Rustem Khamitov in his speech shared the republican experience in this area and noted that only joint efforts of federal, regional, local authorities, public organizations and business would help to solve the unemployment problem.

The Head of the Republic also said that due to the participation in the federal program the republic had received 218 million rubles to reduce tensions in the labour market.

“More than five thousand people were either retrained or had temporary employment. Of course, these funds played a very important role to stabilize the situation at some of our large enterprises,” said the Head of the Region. “In 2016 the funds will be allocated by the Government RF. I hope that the republic will receive no less than the last year.”
