Rustem Khamitov met with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia

UFA, 4 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. On December 3, at the Patriarchal Chambers of the Faceted Chamber of the Kremlin a meeting of the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was held.

The meeting was attended by Metropolitan of Ufa and Sterlitamak Nikon and the First Deputy Chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, Bishop Savva Voskresensky.

The Head of Bashkortostan reported the completion of repair and restoration works at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Ufa, and invited His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to visit Bashkortostan. The Patriarch accepted the invitation. As expected, the visit will take place in the summer of 2016.

Then there was a discussion of interfaith cooperation issues in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
