Bashkortostan CEC Chairman took part in observation over Azerbaijan parliamentary elections

UFA, 2 November 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The CEC Chairman of Bashkortostan Haidar Valeev as part of the CIS Mission took part in the observation over the elections in Azerbaijan. The parliamentary elections ended on Sunday, November 1. 2 million 897 thousand 188 people took part in voting. The turnout was 55.7%. The foreign observers present at the elections acknowledged that the elections were organized at a high level, were transparent and stable, in a positive environment.
According to the Central Election Commission RB, the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were monitored by 503 observers representing nearly 40 international organizations and more than 50 countries.
20 days are given for final vote counting, after which the official results must be submitted for approval by the Constitutional Court.
767 people claim for 125 seats in the unicameral parliament of Azerbaijan. More than half of them were nominated by 15 political parties and a coalition of parties «Azadlyg 2015», the rest is independent candidates. Since 2005, parliamentary elections in the country are held only according to the majority voting system.
