Bashkir family traditions were considered in Moscow as part of the "Russian World - a Big Family" project

A traditional Bashkir family in the modern world and methods of national pedagogics in education and training has become a central topic of the seminar on development and support of the family institution in the modern world. The Forum was held by the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Science, Education and Culture, the Senator from Bashkortostan Liliya Gumerova at the Russian University of Peoples' Friendship. Positive experience of family traditions of different peoples was marked there.

The Senator noted that the event was held in the framework of social project implementation "Russian World - a Big Family" carried out in accordance with the Presidential program to support civil society institutions.

Liliya Gumerova noted that about 60% of parents know little about parenting basics, 25% are familiar with some of the methods and principles of education, and only 15% of parents have a clear understanding of their responsibilities, know how to use different forms and methods of educational influence on children.

The MP stressed that today the country has a national strategy on protecting children’s interests, education development strategy. These are comprehensive documents aimed at developing civil society and preservation of the institution of family.

At the same time Lily Gumerova expressed the idea to revive a preparation course for family life. "It needs to be upgraded; it should be supported by good experts who could give boys and girls the knowledge of the future family life touching on legal, medical, psychological aspects. This course will reduce the divorce rate", believes the parliamentarian.

The Senator gave an example of Bashkortostan, where in some schools courses on preparation of children and youth for family life are given as a pilot project. This project should help children as their development and maturation, from the kindergarten through high school, consistently and comprehensively to develop his experience, to learn rules, regulations and laws of life in the family.
