Bashkortostan parliamentarians bring laws to conformity with Convention on Rights of Disabled People

UFA, 15 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The regional laws "On Libraries", "On Objects of Cultural Heritage (monuments of history and culture) of the Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan" and "On Culture" will be brought into conformity with the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In connection with the ratification of the Convention amendments to some legislative acts of the Russian Federation were made.

The laws strengthened the requirements to the observance of rights of people with disabilities and their social security. According to the amendments, the state authorities of the republic and local governments must ensure the accessibility conditions of public and municipal libraries, objects of cultural heritage, as well as museums, cultural and arts institutions.

The members of the Committee of the State Assembly RB for Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Policy considered three bills and recommended them for adoption in the first reading.

At the meeting, the committee reviewed and recommended for adoption in the first reading a package of budget documents. Among them, there was a forecast of socio-economic development for 2016 and for the period until 2018, a draft law "On the budget of the Republic of Bashkortostan for 2016 and the planning period of 2017 and 2018" and the draft law "On the budget of the Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund RB for 2016 and the planning period of 2017 and 2018".
