Bashkiria and China establish inter-parliamentary contacts

In Bashkortostan the State Assembly deputies met with the delegation of the Jiangxi Province Parliament of the People’s Republic of China. Among the guests are members of parliament and members of the Secretariat of People's Congress of Jiangxi Province, the delegation is led by the Head of the Secretariat Wei Ming.

The two-day program includes a visit to the House of the State Assembly RB, a meeting with the chairman of the parliament, deputies and members of the Government, a visit to the exhibition centre "BashEXPO" and the State Committee for Entrepreneurship and Tourism.

Welcoming the Chinese parliamentarians, the State Assembly Chairman Konstantin Tolkachev noted that their visit would be an important step in the further development of relations between the regions of the two leading countries of the world.

The head of the delegation of Chinese parliamentarians Ming Wei thanked his colleagues from Bashkortostan for their warm welcome and expressed hope that the visit will promote the development of multilateral relations of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Jiangxi Province. He told about the Parliament of Jiangxi Province, proposed to develop the inter-parliamentary exchange and invited Bashkir colleagues to make a return visit to China.

Contacts between Bashkortostan and Jiangxi Province began in May 2013, when the head of the republic Rustem Khamitov as part of the delegation of the Volga Federal District, visited the People's Republic of China. During the visit, a protocol on cooperation between the regions of the upper, middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the regions of the Volga Federal District was signed. With the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province on cooperation in trade-economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian spheres in Shanghai on May 20, 2014, a strong legal basis for mutually beneficial contacts between our regions appeared.

For two years official visits of the delegation of the Forestry Department and the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Jiangxi Copper Corporation to Bashkortostan took place to enhance cooperation. The Jeon Gye Trading Group, whose representatives have repeatedly visited Bashkortostan, is actively exploring our market and investing in it. At the beginning of November 2014 the "Business Days of the Republic of Bashkortostan" in Jiangxi Province were held, during which meetings of Bashkortostan officials with the leadership of Jiangxi Province were organized.
