Rustem Khamitov: "Bashkortostan occupies its rightful place on the economic map of Russia"

UFA, 8 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Bashkortostan is a rich, successful republic, which takes is its rightful place on the economic map of Russia, and that’s why three years ago our city, our republic was given the honour of hosting the SCO and BRICS Summits. This was stated by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov at a press briefing at the international press centre of the SCO and BRICS Summits in Ufa.

The Head of Bashkortostan spoke about an economic potential of the region noting that "our republic is one of the largest subjects of the Russian Federation. In terms of population we are the seventh and we enter the top twenty on the territory. We have a strong diversified industry".

Rustem Khamitov said that the republic was famous for its Bashkir oil "for 80 years we have refueled the aircraft tanks, trucks, tractors with Bashkir fuel. And, in fact, the Bashkir fuel has a very high quality".

The Head of Bashkortostan mentioned the success of the region in agriculture, production of environmentally friendly, nutritious, wholesome foods.

Separately, the Head of the Republic shared advances in manufacturing, mining and metals industry. In particular, he spoke about machine-building enterprises. The biggest of them is Ufa Engine Industrial Association, which assembles and produces military aircraft engines. All famous "Su" aircrafts fly with engines manufactured in Ufa.

Summing up the preparations for the international forums, Rustem Khamitov noted that "In general, we have a hundred-percent readiness for the Summits. All systems and infrastructure are ready. Everything works fine, everything is checked. Ufa already welcomes distinguished guests”.
