Advisor to the President of Russia: "Combination of the Summits in Ufa is a unique historical event"

UFA, 8 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The combination of the two International Summits in Ufa is a unique historical event that unlikely to happen again. This opinion was expressed in Ufa at a press briefing by Anton Kobyakov, the executive secretary of the organizing committee of the Russia’s Presidency of the SCO and BRICS.

Due to the Summits now in addition to Vladivostok, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, the capital of Bashkortostan Republic - Ufa appeared on the map of Russia. It is a city with a new transport logistics with congress and exhibition facilities, fully prepared to host large-scale events.

Anton Kobyakov marked that the funds of the federal centre and the republic and extra-budgetary funds were used in the Summits financing. In particular, new hotels were built on the extra-budgetary funds.

On July 8, the BRICS and SCO Summits open in Ufa, which will be attended by Vladimir Putin as the head of the presiding state.

Political coordination and global governance, problems of sustainable development, expansion of cooperation within the association will be discussed at the meeting of the leaders of the BRICS countries. An exchange of views on the prospects of the BRICS New Development Bank and foreign currency reserve pool will be carried out.

The program of activities also provides a meeting in the "outreach" format with participation of heads of states of the BRICS, SCO and the Eurasian Economic Union, meeting with representatives of the Business Council of BRICS. The Russian President will talk separately with leaders of trade unions of the BRICS countries. It is scheduled adoption of a number of documents at the end of the Summit.

The agenda of the Council of the SCO heads includes issues of further development of the organization, strengthening its role in the international arena, better coordination on important international and regional issues. It is expected approval of a set of documents, including the Strategy for the Development of the SCO till 2025. A decision to initiate an admission procedure of India and Pakistan to the Organization is anticipated.
