Rustem Khamitov: "We are in the top ten regions in terms of investments"

UFA, 7 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Sergey Zakharov/. Rustem Khamitov gave a detailed interview to the "Vedomosti" newspaper on the eve of the SCO and BRICS Summits in Ufa. As the Head of Bashkortostan marked "our republic – is among regions with good indicators: small debt - 24% of the budget, good rate of tax revenues growth over the first five months - ahead of schedule by 7-8%, good investment growth rate - 9% in the first quarter. Such indicators maintain the region at a proper level, but do not give an active, powerful development - we want better ones".

Rustem Khamitov is sure that spending on preparations for the Summits was reasonable. According to him, "the republic invested about 2 billion rubles, the Federation - the same amount for the reconstruction of the airfield, private investors - about 11 billion rubles for the construction of seven hotels. Most of the works were planned. So we wanted in any case to carry out a reconstruction of the Congress Hall, where the heads of states would meet, because it was half-empty and did not perform its functions. Now this facility can host events of any level. We also repaired roads, renovated facades and buildings. In short, we realized the plans that we had". "We have opened up, unlike in previous years, so we have good results – we are in the top ten regions in terms of investments", the Head of the Region said.
