Business relations with China is a priority for Bashkortostan - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 3 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The development of business relations with Chinese entrepreneurs is a priority for our republic. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov outlined the plans for further cooperation in his interview with Xinhua News Agency on the eve of the SCO and BRICS Summits.

According to the President of the Republic, work is proceeding in two directions. "The first - is participation in the joint project "Volga - the Yangtze River". Subjects of the Russian Federation, members of the Volga Federal District, twice a year hold meetings between the management entities of Russia and the leadership of the provinces. These meetings provide a significant effect. Today we have an agreement with Jiangsu, Liaoning provinces; we work with the Chóngqìng city government. Currently we have 10-12 offers for joint work in the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan".

The second direction is independent work of businessmen. They themselves enter the markets of China. "We are assisting them in this effort. A business-mission was formed of our businessmen. In May 2014 we visited Jiangsu, signed an agreement with the leadership of the province. And within this activity agricultural, commercial, construction projects began developing", Rustem Khamitov said.

The Head of the Region told about a number of projects that had been already implemented or would be implemented this year and be completed in the next one. This is a rolling mill project, which will be built in the city of Ishimbay. Negotiations on cooperation in construction of the third and fourth stage of the factory for turkey meat production are being conducted. Joint work together with Chinese partners is going on under the project of waste processing of copper-zinc mines. There are a few plans in the agricultural sector.

"We strongly hope that a road connecting the western border of China with Europe will go over the territory of our republic. To date, we know that the road has been built in the People's Republic of China. The construction is completing in Kazakhstan. Starting next year, works will begin in the territory of Orenburg, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. Of course, the presence of this corridor would significantly accelerate goods supply from China to Europe, from Europe to China, from the Russian Federation to China, from China to the Russian Federation”, Rustem Khamitov said.
