Parliamentarians of Bashkortostan are considering privatization of cultural heritage

A possibility of sale at auction of cultural heritage property included in the state register is considered by the parliamentarians of Bashkortostan. The members of the relevant committee of the State Assembly reviewed amendments to the regional law "On privatization of state property in the Republic of Bashkortostan" on Wednesday, May 13.

As explained by the Minister of Land and Property Relations of Bashkortostan Evgeny Guriev, the bill should bring the regional legislation into conformity with the federal law.

The bill clearly defines the burden of new owners with protection requirements to maintaining and using cultural heritage property. This is one of the essential conditions for the privatization of cultural heritage. The project prescribes the terms of facilities privatization in poor condition. In this case, the contract shall include the design documentation for the conservation of the property. The minimum starting price of objects of cultural heritage that are in poor condition is set equal to one ruble.

The terms, under which the contract on the privatization of cultural monuments are terminated, will be also amended.
