Bashkortostan will be visited by the Head of Diplomatic Mission of India in Russia

UFA, 30 January 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Sergey Zakharov/. On February 1-3, Ufa will be visited by the delegation of India, headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Russian Federation P.S. Raghavan.
The program of the official visit includes a meeting with the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov, the heads of ministries and departments, representatives of the Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations "Bashkortostan India", students and teachers of Bashkir State Medical University and rectors of the leading universities in the region. The head of the Indian diplomatic mission will also visit some industrial enterprises, examine objects, where the events of the forthcoming BRICS Summit will be held in Ufa.
On February 3, Mr. Raghavan will share his impressions with reporters at Bashinform News Agency. The press conference will start at 14.30.
According to the results of 2013 the volume of mutual trade between Bashkortostan and India amounted to 217.5 million dollars, including exports - 212.6 million, imports - 4.9 million. Bashkortostan mainly exports to India various equipment, fertilizers and other chemical products including rubber, ferrous metals and other commodities.
India imports to Bashkortostan equipment, chemical and pharmaceutical products, products from ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Ten joint ventures with participation of Indian capital mainly engaged in the wholesale trade are created in the territory of our republic.
On June 28, 2013 a presentation of the economic potential of Bashkortostan took place at the Embassy of India in Russia. Members of official delegations reported on the investment climate in the republic, told about directions of possible cooperation.
The Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations "Bashkortostan - India" has been operating for more than 40 years in Ufa.
In January 2013 the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Embassy of the Republic of India in Russia presented a concert program in Ufa from Mumbai "Ticket to Bollywood".
Currently, more than forty students from India study at Bashkir State Medical University.
