Rustem Khamitov: "Moral climate in our society depends on the way public prosecution works"

On January 12, in Ufa the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov spoke at the solemn meeting devoted to the Day of the Public Prosecution of the Russian Federation. The Head of the Republic congratulated employees and veterans of the department on their professional holiday and presented them state awards of Bashkortostan.

The Head of Bashkortostan said that the prosecution authorities coordinated such important directions of law enforcement agencies, as crime prevention, counteraction law violation in economic and social spheres, extremism and corruption, protection of public and private property.

Among the important challenges facing the agency Rustem Khamitov named the improvement of business climate. According to him, every year more than half of the unscheduled inspections claimed by supervisory authorities was rejected by the prosecutor's office, significantly reducing the burden on local business.

The Head of the Republic proposed establishing an Ombudsman in this area, which will assist prosecutors to combat corruption effectively.

The Head of Bashkortostan urged the prosecution authorities to tighten control in the sphere of housing and communal services, including major repairs of residential buildings, as well as scrutinize the facts of unreasonable overpricing of food products, gasoline, energy tariffs.
