Rustem Khamitov: "United Russia’s task in the current situation is to contribute to consolidation and social harmony"

UFA, 9 December 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Iliya Spiridonov/. On December 9, the President RB Rustem Khamitov delivered a speech at a conference of the regional branch of the "United Russia" political party at the State Assembly - Kurultai of Bashkortostan Republic.

The conference was attended by 200 delegates and over 300 guests, among them - the State Duma deputies, heads of local executive committees, members of the Regional Council of Supporters, the chairmen of Local Councils of Supporters and representatives of the "Young Guard of United Russia".

Rustem Khamitov said in his speech that the United Russia would have to learn working in new and rapidly changing realities, while maintaining its leading principles – working to the benefit of the country, the republic and its citizens, to the benefit of common people.

Summing up the results of the election campaign of 2014, the President of Bashkortostan expressed appreciation to his party members for the joint work and encouraged them to work actively on the implementation of the commitments undertaken.

The head of the region noted that next year 7335 deputies to the Councils of 772 rural settlements should be elected, as well as the city of Belebey and Chishmy settlement. Nomination of the party candidates should be started already now, including through the process of intra-party vote.

Speaking about the upcoming election campaign to the State Duma 2016, the head of the republic said that it would be difficult elections with high competition and fierce struggle.

“It is possible that our opponents will try to take advantage of the difficult economic situation, shortcomings in the work of the authorities, and they are, of course. Opponents will give sounding promises, provoke scandals, swing the political situation, trying to play the "national and nationalistic card", Rustem Khamitov said. "United Russia has never used and will not use such technology. The regional branch of the party should develop and offer practical projects that are of high economic, social, public significance for the people of the republic and for some specific areas".
