Political parties will pay half a million rubles for vote buying

UFA, 11 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Vote buying would be punishable by a fine of half a million rubles for legal entities. Illegal use of money and property in the financing activities of the party not connected with participation in elections and referendums involves imposition of penalties of up to 200 thousand rubles. The State Duma adopted in the second reading the presidential draft law on responsibility for illegal political parties financing, according to TASS.

Parliamentarians ban political parties to accept donations from NGOs - foreign agents and transactions with them. In the text of the original version a new rule is entered prohibiting a political party or its regional offices to accept donations from NGOs that perform functions of a foreign agent.

In addition, the lower house approved an amendment, according to which fines of up to 1 million rubles were introduced for violations in financing of political parties during the elections.
