Rustem Khamitov: "We are committed to productive relationships with business and enterprises of Kyrgyzstan"

Today in the House of Republic a meeting of the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Marat Sharshekeev was held, the press service of the head of the region informs. Marat Sharshekeev received an invitation to visit Ufa in September during a visit of our republic’s delegation to Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting the parties discussed the trends and prospects of industrial, trade and economic cooperation.

“We are strongly determined to establish contacts between business, industrial enterprises and authorities. To organize cultural exchanges in the near future. We begin work on major projects related to logistics, goods delivery, working with customs,” Rustem Khamitov said. “We are committed to very close and productive relationships with business and enterprises of Kyrgyzstan.”

Marat Sharshekeev stressed that Kyrgyzstan intended to establish effective trade cooperation between our two republics:

“We should establish not just trade but fraternal relationships, to the extent that make our capitals twin cities, open direct flights, because we can’t do anything without a shorter logistics, of course”, the head of the Chamber of Commerce of Kyrgyzstan said.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Bashkortostan Yuriy Pustovgarov among the main areas of cooperation named import of agricultural machinery, development of honey production in Kyrgyzstan, as well as creating a platform for interaction between regions and businesses within the framework of the SCO.

Today the share of Kyrgyzstan in the national foreign trade turnover with CIS countries is 14.7 percent (4th place). In 2013, the trade volume amounted to 224.2 million dollars, while more than 99 percent of this amount was accounted for export. Among the main products that Bashkortostan supplies to Kyrgyzstan are petroleum products (94.5 percent of total exports), as well as chemical, wood, metal and food products. The republic imports bulbs, cotton fiber, shorn wool and vegetables. Investments from Kyrgyzstan accumulated in the Bashkortostan economy, amounted to $ 1.7 million as the end of 2013.
