Competition at the elections of regional governors was 4-5 candidates per place - the CEC RF

UFA, 10 September 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The competition at the elections of heads of regions of the Russian Federation was 4-5 candidates for the position. The Vice-Chairman of the Central Election Commission Leonid Ivlev examined readiness of election commissions to conduct the single voting day on September 14, 2014. Meeting of the CEC of Russia is taking place now as a videoconference. It is attended by the election officials of Bashkortostan.

According to the deputy chairman of the Russian Central Election Commission, the elections of regional governors will be held in 30 regions on September 14. 54 political parties are involved in the electoral process. Candidates from 42 electoral associations were able to pass the municipal selection. Total 137 candidates are registered.

In Bashkortostan, 11 candidates were nominated; four of them were registered – from the "United Russia", the Communist Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and "Patriots of Russia". According to the law, the registered candidate with more than 50 percent of votes shall be considered elected.
