Rustem Khamitov met with participants of the Youth Forum, "I am a Citizen"

Rustem Khamitov meeting with members of the V Youth Forum "I am a Citizen" was held in Belebey region at the children's educational centre "Chaika".

The forum was attended by over 500 people. The forum aim was to discuss the main directions of youth policy, the implementation of business and social projects.

“Times are not simple now. We must exert all our mental activity in trying to find ways out of difficult situations which develop around our country, the economy, what we call the existing tensions in the world”, Rustem Khamitov said addressing to the forum participants. “Currently economic growth is not high in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The index of industrial production is about 102 percent. It's not much, we expected 5-7 percent, but it was not reached. It was not reached due to the fact that the markets are contracted, today's economic situation is closer to stagnation rather than to some other options of development. The same things are happening in our country. We need a different paradigm of development, rethinking our situation. It is necessary to find adequate solutions and to work properly to ensure that the economic situation will change for the better.”

“It is obvious that the world is now entering a new phase of technological development. A new technological structure based on information technology, genetic engineering, nanotechnology, new forms and types of transport is formed. The transition to new technological structures is always accompanied by some difficulties.”

“We need active young people, we need progress and your powerful work. Your potential is not involved in the development of our country to the full. You should be the leaders, not the leaded. The option should be found to change the point of forces application in favour of youth,” Rustem Khamitov said.
