Presidential Elections are announced in Bashkortostan
Elections of the President of Bashkortostan are announced on Wednesday, June 18, at a session of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB. Deputies supported the resolution to hold pre-term elections of the President of the Republic of Bashkortostan on September 14, 2014. Thus, the campaign of pre-term presidential elections is officially started in the region. Since the publication of the resolution the nomination of candidates’ process will be launched.
Recall that Rustem Khamitov officially announced of his intention to run for the presidency.
On June 10, United Russia held primaries of candidates to the post of the head of the republic. As a result, three party candidates were defined: Acting President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, the State Duma deputy Rafael Mardanshin, the President of Chamber of Lawyers RB Bulat Yumadilov. The voting was as follows: Rustem Khamitov received 129 votes, Rafael Mardanshin - 41, Bulat Yumadilov - 39.
A final candidate from United Russia will be approved at the conference of the regional branch on June 21.
Nomination of candidates from the Bashkir Branch of the republican Communist Party is scheduled for June 18. A final candidate from the Communists will be approved at the conference on June 22, the Secretary of the Bashkir republican committee of the Communist Party on ideology informed.
The regional branch of LDPR has not yet disclosed information about participation in the pre-term presidential elections in the region.
