Vladimir Putin awarded the prominent culture and arts figures from Bashkiria

At once two culture and arts figures from Bashkortostan received awards from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The director of the publishing house "Gulem" – of the branch of the Academy of Sciences RB Fail Tikeev was awarded the title "Honoured Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation". Eugeniya Skurko, the professor of Ufa State Academy of Arts named after Zagir Ismagilov was awarded the title "Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation".

The ceremony of awarding the best artists of the country was held at the Kremlin. Vladimir Putin congratulated cultural workers on being awarded high state decorations.

“It is symbolic that today's ceremony is taking place in 2014, the Year of Culture, and that here at the Kremlin we are recognising the achievements of those who have dedicated their entire lives to serving culture”, Vladimir Putin said.

State decorations were handed over to architects and artists, writers, musicians, singers and actors.

According to the President, as the specialists explain, the word ‘culture’ shares the same root as ‘cultivation’. It includes such concepts as creation, development and education.

The President marked a high mission of cultural workers, which were making memorable contribution to the bright development of the cultural environment, and thus had a great impact on forming the way of life, outlook and perception of the world of millions of our fellow citizens and especially, of course, on education of the younger generations.
