On April 27 - Day of the Russian Parliamentary System

This year, Russia celebrates the Day of National Parliamentary System for the second time already. New memorable date was established in 2012. The celebration is intended to raise the citizens’ awareness of the activity of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and local legislative bodies. The anniversary of the Russian parliamentary system is considered to be on April 27. It was on this day in 1906 when the State Duma of the Russian Empire started its work.

Traditions established by activities of the Russian pre-revolutionary parliament, in conjunction with the Soviet practice of the representative and legislative power system, are developing in modern Russia under the rules of the Constitution of the Russian Federation of 1993.

Deputies of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan Republic will hold open lessons at schools in honour of the anniversary. The Chairman of the State Assembly RB Konstantin Tolkatchev put forward such a proposal to lawmakers.

“In connection with the celebration of the Russian Parliamentary System Day on April 27, I suggest you holding open lessons on the topic "Hour of Parliamentarism " at schools of your election districts until late April,” the speaker said.
