Rustem Khamitov met with official delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco

On April 15, at the House of the Republic the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with an official delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco headed by Abdeljkader Lesheheb, the Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to the Russian Federation, the press service of the head of the region informs.

Khamitov noted that the Ambassador of Morocco "has a very good reason of visit - opening of the House of Culture and Friendship between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Bashkortostan."

The head of the republic briefed the distinguished guest with the main economic indicators of the region, stressing that the region was among the leaders in the country, told about the implementation of a large program on attracting investors.

“Last year the volume of investments in capital amounted to about 260-270 billion rubles. This is a good result. We are pleased that the last year the trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Morocco increased seven times compared with 2012. It reached almost $ 130 million. We have a great potential to enlarge this turnover. We are willing to enter into agreements with Morocco business. We need to think how to organise it. The Chamber of Commerce is ready to carry out such work and our major businesses, too”, Khamitov said.

The President noted that "Morocco enterprises manufacture a sufficient amount of products, which are in demand here. We are also interested in cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Today we see students from Morocco in the republic. There are not so many of them so far, but we are willing to host a larger number of students".

Abdeljkader Lesheheb in turn marked that it was his second visit to Ufa.

“When I came back to the republic I saw a very notable advance in the field of construction. I saw a lot of new houses, construction sites. Generally, you feel a lot of activity in all spheres of your republic life. Two years ago when I was here I realised the necessity to gather momentum to the development of our bilateral relations. Then we started to work on students training. Since then, we have already trained about 70 students from your republic in Morocco. Here we have really made progress in the field of inter-religious relations. I hope that the opening of the House of Culture and Friendship will give a noticeable boost to the development of our bilateral relations. It will play a role of another "bridge of communication" between Morocco and the Republic of Bashkortostan,” the Ambassador of Morocco said.
