Rustem Khamitov identified priorities in civil- patriotic education of youth
The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a meeting in the Government RB devoted to the civil and patriotic education of youth in the republic. He noted that in Bashkortostan there were numerous museums, the Centre of patriotic education and pre-conscription training of young people was created. But nevertheless the prestige of military service among young people decreased.
Under the "Cadets" project a Bashkir Cadet Corps of the Volga Federal District was opened in Ishimbay. In December 2013 an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Russian Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District and the Republic of Bashkortostan, which was aimed at close cooperation and coordination of work on corporate assistance to the Bashkir Cadet Corps.
Rustem Khamitov also marked the need to develop technical sports in order to make young people be actively engaged in robotics, electronics, small aircraft, programming and high technologies. These directions are to some extent related to the technical preparation for service in the armed forces. In addition, the head of the region said that the republic needed volunteer activities to develop the material base of military and labour glory museums at educational institutions.
