Alexander Degtyarev: "Today it is more important to create such a university that the republic can be proud of"

The structure of the new university, which will be created due to the merger of Ufa State University of Economics and Service (UGAES) and Bashkir State Pedagogical University (BSPU) will include about ten educational institutions of the region, Alexander Degtyarev, the chairman of the subcommittee of the State Duma for Scientific and Technical Policy informs.

"We assume that about ten legal entities will be the members of this integration", Alexander Degtyarev said. "These are social, humanitarian, economic, pedagogical branches of universities. Otherwise, they simply won’t be able to survive. Today processes are going on when about 50 percent of branches are closed across the country. And these processes will continue. Also the demographic situation reduces the chances to "survive" of small educational institutions. Thus, the only way to them is to join the structure of the new university. It is important that in case of joining all social guarantees for the participants - students and teachers remain the same. UGAES and BSPU merger is an example of how to solve the problems of higher education at the state level. They go towards this alliance consciously taking into account the challenges of modern society. There is an understanding that today it is more important to create such a university that the republic can be proud of.”
