Solemn meeting dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Russian Constitution and the Constitution of Bashkortostan was held in Ufa

A solemn meeting devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Constitution of Bashkortostan Republic took place at the House of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB. The event was attended by the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov. The speaker of the national parliament Konstantin Tolkachev opened the meeting.

“Bashkortostan is one of the first subjects of the Russian Federation which fixed consolidated basic principles of democratic legal and social state at regional legislation. The Constitution of our republic is one of the most important political and legal documents for the current development. It is fully incorporated the achievements of international and domestic constitutional and legal formation. It reflected the outcome of radical changes occurred in the society, laid the foundations of a new state structure and civilized market relations. The strong current social and economic position of our republic is based on this foundation, it ensures stability of socio-political situation” the Chairman of the State Assembly said.

The solemn meeting was also attended by members of the national parliament, the Chairmen and judges of the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and the Court of Arbitration, the Prosecutor of the Republic, members of the Government, the Ombudsman for Human Rights, the Ombudsman for Rights of Children and the Business Ombudsman, heads of cities and regions, members of the Public Chamber, representatives of law enforcement bodies, religious and social associations.

After the completion of the official part the scientific-practical conference "The Origins of Modern Russian Constitutionalism and the Constitution of Bashkortostan Republic: Past and Present" was opened.
